The newest action-packed game that audiences dived into was Far Cry 6, that featured Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and was released on October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it is known for delighting in violence and mayhem with equal excitement, all while weaving engaging, ideologically themed tales. It’s no surprise that the network’s new order for a Far Cry limited-run show pulled in two visionaries whose creations have represented all of those elements. About the Series Inspired by Ubisoft's successful video game series, the self-contained anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The series will also follow the video games' structure by featuring a fresh setting and ensemble in each season. Creative Minds Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as executive producers on the series through their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television. We’ve shared excellent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is fresh, gripping, and wildly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our associates at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this cherished property.” What’s Next Mac will also feature in the show, but at the time of writing, we do not know what part that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently greenlit for another season, with FX and Disney finalizing a new overall deal with the producer. “Being able to collaborate alongside Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably supportive, trusting us with one of the most iconic video-game realms ever created. And along the way, my FX partners continues to lift me up with their ongoing belief and assistance.” “What I love about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology-style show. Each game is a variation of a concept, the same way every run of Fargo is a adaptation on a theme,” explained Hawley. “To develop a large-scale action show that can change from year to year, while always exploring the nature of society through this multifaceted and unpredictable lens, is a dream come true. I’m eager to collaborate with Rob and present our shared bold, daring sensibility to the audience.” A time frame for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
